Our Gatherings
Our 8am gathering at Lithgow is a traditional prayer book service with a warm, welcoming and friendly group of people. We enjoy singing hymns played on our organ and remember the death and resurrection of Jesus every fortnight through the Lord’s Supper. We would love you to join us at 8am Traditional Church on Sundays at Lithgow.
Our 10am morning gathering caters for people from all ages and all stages of life. Babies, children, youth, families and even the elderly enjoy being part of our big church family. After initially gathering together with the adults, the kids leave for their Kids’ program.
After our time reading the Bible, praying and singing, we move across to the hall where we all enjoy chatting together over a coffee and tea.
We would love you to join us at 10am Family Church on Sundays.
Our Portland church is a multi-generational community of enthusiastic and loving Christians from the township and across the countryside. Our energetic kids initially gather with us before heading out to their Kid’s church program.
We have suppers each week and a monthly dinner after our gatherings.
We would love you to join us at Portland Anglican Church on Sundays at 4:30pm.
Our Wallerawang gathering likes to be extremely different! We gather in the Wang Community Hall on Monday nights. After sharing dinner together, we enthusiastically sing, read the Bible together, have a Bible talk and pray.
We have a kid’s spot for the young children and lots of toys for them to play with, while the adults discuss the Bible together.

What to expect
We know it can be hard visiting a new group in your community. At each of our gatherings, we will sing a few songs, listen to a Bible passage read and then explained, and we will speak to God in prayer. Our desire is to know and engage with God our Creator and our Lord Jesus Christ.
When you join us, you can wear whatever you like (we dress fairly casually), and stay for as long or as little as you want. Feel free to simply sit back and see what we are on about. Each of our gatherings has its own vibe and feel, from the traditional Anglican service to more casual family gatherings.
Our doors are always open for you to come along and see what they are like.
When you arrive, you should expect to be greeted by someone at the door. Our greeters will offer you the weekly bulletin and a Bible. Some of our larger gatherings use name tags, so it is easier for you to meet people and know who they are.
During school term, there is Kid’s Church for our 10am Lithgow and 4:30pm Portland children.
We believe kids are part of our community, and so in Kid’s Church they do many of the same things we do in our gatherings, just in fun and age-appropriate ways.
Kids join us for the beginning of our gatherings for the first few songs, staying for a special ‘Kid’s Spot’ presentation. After this, they head out to the various break-out spaces where they’re looked after by qualified members of our Kids and Youth teams.
Everyone loves a good coffee and meeting new and friendly people. After our Sunday gatherings we move over to the hall to grab a coffee, eat some fine, country-style baked treats, and chat with one another. Our Portland congregation has a meal once a month and our Wang congregation begins with dinner each week.
